Joey Barton has claimed he's a 'neutral' football man - as he backed Rangers to lift the title while sharing a photo of him wearing a Celtic jersey.

The controversial figure has made no secret of his allegiances to the Hoops during his childhood.

However, the ex-midfielder of course pulled on the blue of Rangers when he was signed by Mark Warburton in 2016.

He took to social media to share his thoughts on yesterday's pulsating 3-3 draw between Philippe Clement and Brendan Rodgers' sides.

He was full of praise for the players, coaches and even John Beaton as referee. He shared a series of positive comments about a 'fantastic game of football'.

And it was here that he posted two photos of him representing either team - one during his career, and the other when he was just a young lad.

He wrote on X: "What a fantastic game of football. Game of two halves. Philippe Clement got his changes absolutely on the money. Sign of a really good coach.

"Rangers much improved in the 2nd period. I knew Cantwell and McGregor were having a bit. Good to see.

"Phenomenal atmosphere at Ibrox. Some strike from Tav for the pen and Matondo to equalise. Rangers should go and win fa’here.

Rangers will go to Dundee on Wednesday night knowing if they pick up all three points then they will go two clear of Celtic heading into the split.
