Chris Sutton admits he was astonished Rangers dropped points in the title race at the weekend.
Philippe Clement's men were defeated 3-2 in the Highlands by Ross County in a shock Scottish football race on Sunday.
It means Celtic have the advantage in the Premiership title race, with Brendan Rodgers' side boasting a four-point gap at the top of the table, albeit Rangers have a game in hand against Dundee.
The final derby game between the pair will take place at Celtic Park post-split.
And this is something that Sutton believes gives his former employer the edge in the title race, however, he has warned that it's far from over yet, with more points to be dropped by both teams.
He told Daily Mail's 'It's All Kicking Off' podcast: "Basically, nobody saw that coming. Least of all Philippe Clement. With the way they finished against Celtic I was astonished by the real lack of intensity from their performance, especially after a first half where they were so insipid.
"They go in front and you think they are not going to let this go, but Ross County came out and got a couple of goals. They carried a real threat to Rangers and they go 3-1 ahead. That is a bad, bad day for Rangers.
"It is so tight and it's still in their hands, but they have to go away to Celtic Park and probably win.
"I still think there will be a couple of twists and turns but I think they will have to beat Celtic at Celtic Park."
