Ex-Celtic duo Jonny Hayes and Charlie Mulgrew are reportedly in the frame for a return to the club in a coaching capacity.
The pair have both been linked with the under-18 head coach vacancy at Celtic.
The Scottish Sun reports the players are "vying for the vacancy" with other candidates also being considered for the Parkhead post.
Mulgrew - who was recently at Lennoxtown to observe a first-team session - is aiming to pave his way in coaching after retiring as a player in the summer.
The former defender played for Celtic for seven years over two spells at the club and is reportedly keen on a coaching position at the club.
Hayes, meanwhile, is still playing for Aberdeen but hasn't featured since February. Hayes was signed by Brendan Rodgers in 2017 so has a connection with the Celtic boss.
The former Republic of Ireland international, 36, is also working in the Aberdeen youth system at under-16 level.

Celtic are seeking a new under-18 head coach after Stuart McLaren left the role.
The recruitment drive comes as Darren O'Dea moved into a new role as professional player pathway manager at the club.
The former B team boss will oversee the development and progression of youth players into the first-team at Celtic.
On the role, O'Dea said: "Having been fortunate enough to be part of a Celtic first-team environment in my career I am passionate about working to give other young players this same opportunity.
"In this new role, I will be working between our academy structure and the first-team environment to ensure that we do all we can to provide the very best pathway and levels of support to allow our young players to reach their full potential and to ultimately deliver at first-team level.”
