Liam Scales has formed a formidable partnership with defensive stablemate Cameron Carter-Vickers this season, with the two among the first names on Brendan Rodgers' team sheet.
With 44 appearances to his name in all competitions this season, Scales has featured the same number of times as club captain Callum McGregor. Ruled out for spells through injury, Carter-Vickers has featured 31 times – each time with his Irish counterpart.
The pair have played a big part in Celtic's success this year, which saw the Parkhead side clinch their third consecutive league title, and the 54th in the club's history.
Next Saturday, May 25, Scales hopes to add another Scottish Cup to the Celtic Park trophy cabinet, and has absolute faith that his defensive stalwart colleague will bring another trophy-winning performance to the national stadium.
"He's brilliant, he's such a top player and he's obviously proven himself since coming up here, he's won trophies and he's been an ever-present," said Scales of Carter-Vickers. "He's had a couple of little injuries this year, but he's back to his best and he's fit again.
"It's great to play alongside him, he's a top player. I'm enjoying forming a partnership with him and learning off him and getting used to him.
"He's cool, he doesn't really get flustered in games, it all sort of comes naturally to him. He can deal with that and he can keep calm, and that's why he's so consistent as well."
Celtic play Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final 2024 at Hampden on Saturday, May 25.
