Charlie Mulgrew has been named Hamilton Academical under-18 coach.
The former Celtic and Dundee United defender landed the role after being linked with a return to Lennoxtown in a youth coaching position.
Mulgrew had reportedly been a contender to take over as under-18 head coach at Celtic but has now joined newly promoted Championship side Hamilton.

A club announcement hailed the new hire citing a "dedication to investing in the future and fostering a strong pathway for young players to progress".
A club statement read: "Hamilton Academical FC is proud to announce the appointment of former Scotland International footballer, Charlie Mulgrew, as the new Coach for the club’s Under 18’s Elite Youth Academy. With an impressive career that includes 44 International Caps and performances at the highest level of the game in the Champions League, Mulgrew brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this vital role.
"Charlie Mulgrew’s distinguished career as a player has seen him achieve remarkable success both on the domestic and international stages. His 44 appearances for the Scotland National Team have showcased his talent, dedication, and leadership on the field. Additionally, Mulgrew’s experience in competing in the prestigious Champions League has provided him with invaluable insights into the demands of top-level football.
