Celtic launched a fan-focused survey this week that asks supporters a suite of questions about their matchday experience among many other things.

The questionnaire is the biggest dedicated correspondence the club has ever made with fans to this end, with everything from in-stadium catering to Wi-Fi services and the cost of merchandise in official club stores put to forum.

Unofficial fan group the Green Brigade has since made a public call to back their bid to get more safe standing inside Celtic Park – as part of their behind-the-goals 'Celtic End' standing section initiative – but this continues to divide opinion among supporters already sitting in the Jock Stein stand currently.

One thing that's likely to be universally accepted by matchday fans, however, is the proposed introduction of electronic season tickets – whereby attendees could gain entry to the stadium via scannable codes on their mobile phones.

This system is of course in place at concert venues all over the city, and indeed up and down the country, and is employed at many football stadiums' turnstiles – at least partially for general sale tickets, or across both general sale and season tickets.

"Would you prefer a digital version of your Season Ticket to access Celtic Park using your mobile phone?" asks the survey, as outlined above.

Wide-reaching questionnaires such as this one are bound to be seen as contentious by some, but you would have to assume this particular instance is a win-win for fans – those who choose to continue as is with physical cards can do so, whereas those who'd rather switch to all-digital gain that advantage too.

Celtic say the survey is open until 5pm on Friday, July 26, however haven't said when the responses will be collated – or indeed what will be done with them, stressing an ongoing commitment to "fan engagement".
