Brendan Rodgers has revealed how midfield duo Bosun Lawal and Odin Thiago Holm need to do more if they are to become regular fixtures in his Celtic team.
The pair were given runouts in the two pre-season friendlies against Ayr United and Queen's Park so far which ended in a 1-1 draw and 6-4 win respectively.
The duo earned some praise from the Celtic supporters for their displays but Rodgers is adamant that individual talent alone is not enough and that their levels need to be a lot higher if they want to ensure that this is their breakthrough season at the club.
The 51-year-old insists that the two players will need to raise their game significantly if they are to make a sustained first-team impression as well as be involved in Rodgers Celtic squad and gain valuable minutes moving forward.
The Irishman also singled out young Francis Turley - who bagged the last goal in the 10-goal thriller win over Queen's Park at the City Stadium last Wednesday night - as an example of the kind of attitude and application that he is expecting from every Celtic first-team player.

Republic of Ireland striker Adam Idah told Celtic is best career move
Rodgers said: "They (Lawal and Odin Thiago Holm) need to be at a much higher level. If you're going to play for Celtic, Odin needs to do more. There is something there, absolutely. That's why we persevere and that's why we stay with it, because Odin has talent, like Bosun.
"That's why we want to give them the opportunity, so I can see them in pre-season. It's just running more. You have to run, without the ball, you've got to run, you've got to be bright, you've got to be in good positions to press the game, then to get the ball and take the ball.
"You saw Francis Turley when he came into the Queen's Park game. He's a kid I've only seen for a couple of days, and if he can progress and get his body right, then he'll be a proper player. It's a kid that moves well.
"You saw how he moved, how he took the ball, how he made runs, he's bright, he got himself into the box, he produced a neat finish. "He just needs to get more power and energy, but that's football, that's movement, that's taking the ball, that's being clever.
"So I think the two boys that we mentioned have talent but I want more... a lot more. "If you have talent you can play in teams, but not on our team."
