Celtic new boy Viljami Sinisalo impressed with a confident and charismatic interview when he signed a five-year deal at Parkhead this week, before joining his teammates on the Celtic USA Tour 2024.
The 22-year-old is likely to feature in some capacity against Celtic's first opponents of their American excursion – DC United this Saturday (early hours of Sunday UK) – however it's a clean sheet performance from last year for Exeter City that's caught our eye on this occasion.
Celtic signed the stopper from parent club Aston Villa, however the Finnish internationalist spent last campaign on loan to the English League One side, and looked confident between the sticks during a 0-0 draw with Blackpool in August.
A brave stop in that match's closing stages ensured his side captured a point, the highlights of which are featured here (1.50 onwards for the save in question) via the Exeter City YouTube channel:
After the match, Sinisalo spoke candidly about the draw while underlining the need for improvement in terms of concentration towards the final whistle.
Playing at a full house under Brendan Rodgers at Celtic Park will be a different challenge altogether, but the young keeper spoke well to Exeter's club media after the fact.
"We were solid through the game and we kept a clean sheet which is good for us boys at the back," he said. "We arguably had a few moments where the final ball wasn't necessarily right.
"We had a few chances to nick it right at the end – but we've got to get rid of these things at the end where it's about game management and they end up having a chance to win the game because we've done something silly. But, yeah, a positive point in the end."
