Footy Headlines and FIFA Kit Creator have joined forces to send off the now-retired football legend Toni Kroos with the 'Toni Kroos Kit Creator Competition'.

The aptly-named contest is what it sounds like – an unofficial, unsponsored tribute to the legendary Germany, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid midfielder who called time on his illustrious playing career after this summer's European Championships.

I've long admired the work of the Celtic support's most creative minds when it comes to crafting inventive concept kits for the Parkhead side, and so I love the idea of this Kroos contest being applied to Celtic greats past and present.

How would a Scott Brown kit competition have turned out a few years back, for example, or what might a James Forrest or Callum McGregor event entail in years to come? The Lisbon Lions are surely deserving of a legends series in a similar vein, and I bet the most inventive supporters would conjure some eye-catching designs with a Henrik Larsson-inspired contest.

Kroos, of course, last visited Glasgow when Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid faced Celtic in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League in 2022/23, during former manager Ange Postecoglou's second and final year at the club, and hailed the home crowd for its fervent support under the Paradise lights.

Rules for the competition are pretty loose, however entrants must only use club badges of the teams Kroos has actually played for – again, the German national team, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid – and the manufacturer must only be adidas, the same brand who's also historically created kits for the aforementioned teams.

If you fancy trying your hand at something in honour of Toni Kroos, you can do so by heading over to Footy Headlines and following their on-site instructions.
