Southampton have officially withdrawn from the pursuit of Celtic midfielder Matt O'Riley.
Saints manager, Russell Martin, who previously enjoyed a successful rapport with O'Riley at MK Dons, had expressed a desire to reunite with the talented playmaker.
However, financial constraints have hindered Southampton's ability to meet Celtic's asking price, which exceeds £25 million.
Celtic have already rejected four bids from Serie A side, Atalanta, indicating their determination to secure a record-breaking sale for O'Riley.
With Southampton now out of the running, the focus shifts to Juventus, whose involvement in the transfer saga could be crucial in determining O'Riley's future.

Martin confirmed the situation during a recent press conference, stating, "We are not in the race right now," leaving the door open for other clubs to potentially capitalise on this opportunity.
