Adam Idah has hailed Celtic's "unbelievable" winning mentality as he addressed the media for the first time since penning a five-year contract.

The 23-year-old striker finally joined the reigning Scottish Premiership champions from Norwich City on Thursday following a long transfer saga.

He made a significant impression while on a short loan spell at the club during the second part of last season, scoring nine times from 19 games, including a Scottish Cup winning goal versus Rangers at the end of May.

Idah, who had made it clear that he wanted to return to the Glasgow giants this summer, knows he faces competition from Kyogo Furuhashi to be Celtic's main man up front, but vowed to score goals regardless of if he's starting or coming off the bench.

“I’m here to play games regardless of whether if I’m starting or coming off the bench," he explained.

"The mentality here in this group is unbelievable and everyone wants to win.

“It doesn’t matter who’s playing or who’s starting, everyone supports each other and it will be the exact same this season.

“It’s not about how many games I’m going to start for me, it’s about winning games and scoring goals.”

There's arguably no bigger goal as a Celtic player than scoring against Rangers, never mind in a national cup final.

That's something the Republic of Ireland internationalist takes great pride upon, while he outlined how joining the Hoops last January helped boost his confidence after struggling to regularly find the net in the English Championship.

"I’m quite confident, yes," Idah confessed. "The timing of the goals I scored last season was unbelievable.

"For me, the main target is to score as many goals as I can, regardless of the timing. Self-confidence is huge, and at Norwich, I probably didn’t have that belief, but I tried to get it going and since coming to Celtic in January it really boosted me.

"I think people could tell the difference between me at Norwich and when I was at Celtic. I think it is really important."
