Neil Lennon insisted he has no intention of resigning after a derby draw made it six games without a win as Rapid Bucharest boss.

Rapid have now drawn with their first five matches and lost the other and are the only team in the Romanian top flight without a win following a 1-1 draw with bitter rivals Dinamo Bucharest.

The former Celtic and Hibs boss has been under serious pressure from the Romanian media and he was again quizzed about his future.

But he was adamant he won't walk away, after suffering the loss of star striker Albion Rrahmani to Sparta Prague in a £4.5 million deal the day before the game.

He said: "I keep hearing that I am about to resign, but it's not going to happen.

"I understand there is frustration that we didn't win and I feel the same myself, but we were unlucky.

"The players gave everything. Did any of you actually watch the game?

"I do not understand the context of these questions. I prepared for the match with Albion Rrahmani in my team, but these things happen in football."

And Lennon was boosted by receiving his second vote of confidence in a week from club president Viorel Moldovan.

He said: "There must be patience. Of course, we have faith in Neil Lennon.

"The fans are naturally disappointed, we are just as disappointed.

"We just need that first win. I'm convinced that sooner or later this breakthrough will happen."
