Celtic have received a major transfer boost with Manchester City unlikely to pounce for Kyogo Furuhashi this summer.
The Japanese striker, 26, is reportedly a possible target for City after Julian Alvarez left the club for Atletico Madrid.
However, Pep Guardiola has now admitted City are most likely finished with transfer signings for the summer.
The Premier League champions re-signed Ilkay Gundogan from Barcelona but look to have concluded their business with the signing of the German midfielder.
That news will come as a major relief to Celtic with a possible bid for Kyogo a fear after shock speculation in recent days.
“I don’t know. I don’t think so," said Guardiola of Manchester City adding further signings this summer.
"I don’t know what’s going to happen, maybe something happens in terms of injuries – hopefully not – or the market provides something unexpected that financially suits, or tactically. Right now I don’t think so.”

Transfer journalist David Ornstein has earlier today stated Kyogo would be a stop-gap signing for Manchester City should a deal be struck.
On The Overlap's Fan Debate Transfer Special, the Athletic journalist said: "[Manchester City] will probably look to do one more (signing), potentially. Whether it be a wide player or somebody who can play wide and up front to back-up Erling Haaland.
"They’ve been linked with the Celtic forward. He is one of their options but I don’t think they’ve settled on who they want to go for, if they will at all.
"It needs to be the right player who will accept playing second fiddle to Haaland if needed or the wingers who are there at the moment. That’s not an easy task."
