Celtic are reportedly interested in re-signing former striker Odsonne Edouard, who is currently with Crystal Palace.

The 26-year-old French forward could become available if Palace successfully secures the signing of Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal, creating a potential opening for Edouard to make a sensational return to Parkhead.

Edouard, who began his professional career at Paris Saint-Germain, made a significant impact during his time at Celtic from 2017 to 2021.

After initially joining the Scottish giants on-loan before penning a permanent four-year-contract for a fee rumoured to be around £8million in 2018, he quickly established himself as a key player, scoring over 80 goals throughout his 179 appearances.

His impressive performances helped Celtic secure multiple domestic titles, including the coveted treble in 2019.

Edouard's ability to find the back of the net, combined with his technical skills and poise in front of goal, made him a fan favourite.

His standout performances in the UEFA Champions League and Scottish Premiership showcased his potential and earned him a £14m move to the English Premier League with Crystal Palace in 2021.

And now London-based outlet, News Shopper, report that Celtic would consider bringing the centre-forward back across the border - and that could be made easier with the extra windfall they have landed through Matt O'Riley's £30million transfer exit. The Denmark star joined Brighton on Monday. 

The same publication also claim that Brendan Rodgers' side are still monitoring Palace's stance on allowing Jeffrey Schlupp to depart Selhurst Park before the summer window slams shut at 11pm on Friday. 

Rodgers has repeatedly indicated that he wants his squad to be stronger by the time they host title rivals, Rangers, on September 1. 

Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah are currently Celtic’s only senior strike options. Although, Daizen Maeda has shown he can deputise there too.
