Reports indicate that Alex Valle is poised to be officially introduced as a Celtic player on Wednesday.
The Barcelona full-back has signed a one-year contract extension with the La Liga club and is set to join the Scottish Premiership champions on a season-long loan after successfully passing his medical examination, as revealed by Fabrizio Romano.
With Alexandro Bernabei currently on loan at Internacional in Brazil, Greg Taylor remains the only established left-back available to Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers.
This transfer could signal the beginning of a busy period for Celtic as they look to finalise additional signings ahead of Friday's transfer deadline.
Viljami Sinisalo, Kasper Schmeichel, Adam Idah and Paulo Bernardo have already arrived at the Scottish champions this summer.
And once Valle is in the building, securing a replacement for Matt O’Riley, who penned a five-year deal at Brighton on Monday, will become a priority.
In fact, Rodgers has indicated that he would love two new midfielders this week if possible.
