Celtic captain Callum McGregor last night pushed away Vladimir Weiss as he intervened after a kick on Arne Engels.

In an unseen moment, McGregor stepped in to send away the former Rangers winger after he fouled the record Celtic signing as his frustrations boiled over in Glasgow.

Engels - who scored from the penalty spot  -was embroiled in a battle with Weiss all evening and largely came out on top.

It was clear the former Rangers player was not enjoying the best of the contest when he flicked out at Engels in the first-half.

Referee Danny Makkelie was quick to produce a yellow card for the kick - and Weiss received an earful from an unimpressed McGregor as well after the foul.

Footage from after the kick show Weiss in heated discussions with Nicolas Kuhn as the referee checks on Engels. Celtic winger Kuhn motions over the kick before McGregor gets involved.
