Celtic midfielder Arne Engels earned his second senior cap for Belgium last night in a 2-1 defeat to 10-man France.

The £11 million summer signing was introduced by Belgium boss Domenico Tedesco in the 81st minute of the Nations League clash, but couldn’t help his side find a late equaliser.

On an eventful evening at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels, Youri Tielemans missed a first-half penalty for the hosts before a brace from PSG’s Randal Kolo Muani either side of half time - including one from the penalty spot - edged Didier Deschamps’ side to a narrow win.

Arne Engels made his international debut in September, coming off the bench for the final 20 minutes of Belgium's 3-1 win over Israel in their Nations League opener.

The 21-year-old was an unused substitute in their 2-2 draw with Italy on Thursday.
