Celtic fans have been hit with a bizarre new complaint just a day after being hammered by UEFA...their supporters have been accused of 'smoking weed' in the stands by the Twente Enschede women's team captain.

The Parkhead side were this week fined £16,700 for the 'lighting of fireworks' during their recent Champions League defeat away to Borussia Dortmund.

And they were hit with a two-year suspended sentence for selling away tickets if there is another incident.

Their women's team started their own Champions League campaign against Dutch side Twente Enschede at Hamilton Accies' New Douglas Park earlier this month.

And although the Dutch players later praised the atmosphere after an attendance of 2,784 in their 2-0 win, the club's captain Danique van Ginkel pinpointed an unusual observation.

She said: "I have never experienced an atmosphere like that - there was so much cheering.

"But there was a downside - the fans were smoking weed.

"Everyone could smell it. You don't normally smell that on the pitch.

"But we could still play football with it - the headache wasn't too bad."

The complaint isn't believed to have been mentioned in the match delegate's report on the game.
