Celtic are asking for £8.3 million to sanction the permanent signing of Alexandro Bernabei, according to reports.

The Argentinian left-back has been on loan at Internacional since March, with the Brazilian side keen to keep him at the club after the 24-year-old’s impressive start.

Bernabei joined the Hoops on a five-year contract in the summer of 2022 for a fee reported to be £3.75 million.

With three years remaining on his deal at Parkhead, the defender could leave the club permanently in the coming transfer window if a deal can be reached.

Internacional are reportedly unwilling to meet Celtic’s asking price of £8 million, with the possibility of extending the player’s loan into 2025 also a possibility.
