Duk insists Aberdeen may have lost the battle against Celtic, but 'the war is not over'.

The Portuguese attacker took to his Instagram story in the wake of the Hoops' 6-0 victory over the Dons at Hampden in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup on Saturday night.

Brendan Rodgers' side swept the Pittodrie outfit aside with ease at the national stadium, as Daizen Maeda scored an impressive hat-trick in Glasgow's southside.

The result came just two weeks after Jimmy Thelin's men pulled off an outstanding two-goal comeback at Celtic Park to maintain pace with the Scottish Premiership champions on league business at the top of the table.

Both Aberdeen and the Hoops remain level on 28 points at the summit.

And it appears that's what Duk has referenced when addressing the weekend's result.

Aberdeen could go to the top of the table outright with a victory or a draw against Dundee on Saturday.

Celtic then face a trip to Rugby Park on Sunday afternoon to face Derek McInnes' Kilmarnock.
