The official Celtic store raised eyebrows recently with the launch of a retro range that reworks old school kits with new colour palettes.
Sampling the iconic 1996 hoops, as well as the historic 1988 centenary home kit, the new-look retro remakes adapt the club's familiar green and white colours, and apply a full wash of specific tones – including all-green, all-white and all-black.
In recent years, 'blackout' kits have grown in popularity, with everyone from Paris Saint-Germain to Borussia Dortmund, AIK, Hull City and more all adopting variations of the trend.

As they are wont to do, fans haven't held back in hailing and deriding the new samples in pretty equal measure on social media.
As someone who enjoys retro-modern combinations, I'm pretty fond of the '96 adaptations – but reckon the centenary shirt is too sacred to be tampered with.
What I'd really like to see next is the same applied to modern day Celtic kits.
Given the club has fallen into the pattern of launching four kits per season - three that are match worn, and one that's more for fashion purposes - I'd love to see a special edition blackout or whiteout number, perhaps to reflect an anniversary or a special result.
