Auston Trusty came off the bench in the closing stages of USA's 1-0 Concacaf Nations League win over Jamaica, showcasing his versatility while slotting in at left-back.
Ricardo Pepi's fifth-minute opener made the difference in the quarter-final first-leg encounter, during a performance where Mauricio Pochettino's side dominated possession.
The left-sided Celtic centre-half has played on the left flank as full-back at various times in his career to date, and took up the mantle for his country when introduced with three minutes of normal time remaining.
As per USA Today's Pro Soccer Wire player ratings, Trusty had little to do in his eight minutes (including stoppage time) on the pitch, but did help shore up his side's backline as they saw out the victory.
Pro Soccer Wire's analysis read: "Trusty came on for Tessmann in the 87th minute, leaving him little time to make an impact. It is worth noting that the Celtic defender ended up playing as a true left back, with Robinson moving up a line as the USMNT looked to seal off a win."

When taking on the USMNT job earlier this year, Pochettino outlined what he wants from players stepping up to their national side.
He said: "What we want to feel from them is their commitment, their personality, their character and their capacity to adapt to a new era, a new way to approach the games."
