After a moment Cameron Carter-Vickers will want to forget, Celtic found themselves 1-0 down in the first half of last night's (Wednesday) UEFA Champions League clash with Club Brugge by way of an own goal.
Brendan Rodgers' side returned from the interval with a bit more bounce, and managed to draw level via Daizen Maeda on the hour, who cut in from the inside-left flank to fire past the visitors' keeper, Simon Mignolet.
Assisted by substitute Alex Valle, the 20-year-old full-back's introduction was central to Celtic finding their stride – and his hand in his side's equaliser did not go unnoticed by teammate Auston Trusty.
As spotted in Celtic TV's recurring Unique Angle series, Trusty singles out Valle for praise after congratulating Maeda, screaming his name, pointing in his direction and then high-fiving him with both hands.
In what was an uncharacteristically quiet shift for Celtic as a whole, Trusty was arguably the home side's best player – a sentiment shared by The Celtic Way's Ryan McGinlay, who gave the American a 9 in his player ratings.
Here's what he said about the 26-year-old centre-back: "Celtic’s best performer in the first half, the USA international won the majority of his battles, looking a lot more composed at the back than Carter-Vickers in the process.
"Strong in the tackle and good on the ball, Trusty kept the defence calm after going 1-0 down. Apart from a break where he let his marker get goal-side, the American was flawless, showing authority on the ball and in the tackle.
"£6 million is looking like a steal for Trusty - Celtic have won a watch with the centre-back this season. An immense showing from the former Arsenal man."
