During Celtic and Club Brugge's 1-1 draw in the UEFA Champions League at Celtic Park last week, approximately 3,000 fans filled the away end of the stadium.
The home support was vocal throughout the match, however the away section expectedly came to life when Brugge netted their goal in the first half – when Cameron Carter-Vickers misread the positioning of goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, ultimately passing the ball into his own net.
In praise of their experience – both over the course of 90 minutes and in the build-up and aftermath of the match – one Brugge fan has sent a heartfelt message to the Celtic support.
Posted to the Celtic subreddit, the Brugge fan said: "Hi Celtic-lads, Bruges fan here. Just wanted to thank you guys for the wonderful away-day-experience you guys gifted us.
"I’ve never experienced such a positive & welcoming vibe from home supporters. Madrid, Lisbon, Hannover, Leverkusen, every away-day I joined in the past had a certain vile atmosphere. But not Glasgow!
"You guys made it truly memorable for all of us; before, during (CL hymn & the YNWA, goosebumps) & after the game (meeting evenly drunk Celtic-fans), thanks for everything!"

Among the replies, one Celtic fan made a tongue-in-cheek barb about one Club Brugge fan flying a union flag, more closely associated with Celtic's city rivals Rangers.
The same Club Brugge fan replied with a laughing emoji and the following message: "Nothing to do with it & I doubt the owners of the flag have a nuanced & detailed view on Anglo-Saxon-history."
