Chris Sutton has sent a farewell message to departing Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou with the announcement of his arrival at Tottenham looking imminent.

The former Celt has been emphatic in his praise for the Aussie during his time at Celtic, a period in which Postecoglou won 2 league titles, 2 League Cups and most recently the Scottish Cup.

Sutton tweeted: "Good luck to Ange Postecoglou at Spurs. I'm gutted he left Celtic and his shoes are big to fill but I understand why he's gone to manage in the English Premier League. I've loved watching his Celtic team play for the last couple of seasons."

This comes after Sutton took a dig at Rangers boss Michael Beale earlier today when he tweeted: "Michael Beale is a lucky man".

Celtic granted the 57-year-old permission to speak to the London club and now Postecoglou has reportedly agreed terms on a two-year-deal with the club with Celtic set to receive a compensation fee of just under £5 million. Talks have reportedly been going on behind the scenes with Postecoglou's representative Frank Trimboli for "months" over securing an EPL move.

With Postecoglou's exit coming soon, rumours have been circulating over who will take over at Celtic Park. Brendan Rodgers is currently the betting favourite for the role having traded places with current West Ham United manager David Moyes. Rodgers has been on the market ever since his sacking by Leicester City back in April, and a controversial return to the role he left so dramatically in 2019 could be on the cards.

Graham Potter has also been touted for the job with Kris Commons demanding Celtic show "ambition" and secure the former Chelsea managers' services whilst former Leeds United manager Jesse March has also been linked with the job.
