Last year I was living through the dying embers of a relationship.

I was in denial for a period of time, of course but looking back I can see the writing was on the wall way before the end actually came. I didn't love watching Celtic anymore.

There was no affection, performances were lacklustre.

Booting up the iPad to watch them go at it felt like a chore. It was the worst I'd seen supporting the club.

The team were utterly demoralised, each time they took to the field they looked like they couldn't wait to get back off it. No wonder so many were clawing to get out of the club by the end. The manager’s time was up before Christmas. He knew it, we knew it. The board got every decision wrong, they didn't even come close to fluking a right one, most notably the now-infamous “Dubai trip”. It was miserable.

But now there’s a new Celtic on the scene.

Look - it's only five games in against miserable opposition in Hearts & Jablonec and one against a tough AZ Alkmaar but are Ange Postecoglou's Celtic making me love watching football again? Yes.

Are we going to batter everyone in sight, romp our way back to the top AND have the whole of Scotland revel in our displays of high-energy football-tainment? (I've just coined this btw) Probably.

The players look revitalised too.

Tom Rogic is back, THE Tom Rogic and his sexy feet.

Callum McGregor, ever the quiet professional, has grasped the captaincy and found his voice. The video of him rallying the troops in the huddle last week had me clipping it and sending it into the group chat along with aubergine emojis.

Where has Kyogo Furuhashi been all my life?

Joe Hart might not be able to save to his left but I'm glad we swiped right when we saw him! Celtic are back baby!

The team Ange inherited were done, spent, it was over. He's won them over though, you can see that the players are really buying into his high tempo, high pressing, "we don't stop" football and so am I.

The turnaround that Ange has managed in such a short period of time has swept me off my feet.

I genuinely thought it would take a season or so to get over the heartbreak of last year but that big Aussie dreamboat has put a spring back in my step and a song back into my heart.
