Joe Hart: The Celtic shot-stopper had to look lively to get down to comfortably smother an early Ryan Kent effort inside the opening seconds. He put his team under unnecessary pressure when he was slack and slammed the ball against Alfredo Morelos and then touched Kent's ensuing shot onto the post. It gave Rangers some much-needed momentum when they hadn't offered anything up until that point. He was beaten all ends up by Kent's curler and it was game-on after that. 5

Alistair Johnston: "He's been with us for a couple of weeks and he is fit and raring to go," were the words of Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou beforehand. Talk about a baptism of fire or what? The Canadian World Cup defender was thrown straight in for his Celtic debut at Ibrox. He enjoyed a decent debut and was tenacious in the tackle although his distribution to James Forrest could have been better at times. He could also have been closer to Kent when he scored. 6

Cameron Carter-Vickers: Uncharacteristically presented Morelos with a sight of goal which he fired wide. The central defender was in a real contest as he tried to shackle the likes of Morelos and Sakala. He showed brute strength and force all afternoon and he did put in a great block on Malik Tillman with six minutes to go. 7

Carl Starfelt: The Swede had a couple of shaky moments whilst in possession in the first half. There was no need to dive in and go to the ground and challenge Sakala in the manner that he did as it led to the penalty kick that gave Rangers the lead at 53 minutes. 6

Greg Taylor: Lasted barely 20 minutes before he limped off injured with a hamstring injury and made way for Croatian World Cup full-back Josip Juranovic.

Callum McGregor: Captain fantastic was taking part in his 30th Glasgow Derby and looked composed in the opening 45 minutes. He tried to rally his team at all times but needed more of his teammates to step up to the plate when the going got tough. 7

Matt O'Riley: The Denmark under-21 international midfielder made his 18th start in a row for Celtic. There has been a lot of conjecture that he'd be the one to lose his place in the side due to Aaron Mooy's form but his manager kept faith in him. He showed some tremendous pieces of close control and skill in the opening period but his passing was generally erratic. 5

Reo Hatate: Buzzed around the midfield in the opening 45 and did make some intelligent runs where he broke the lines and drifted into space but his teammates were unable to find him with a pass. He wriggled away brilliantly early in the second half and put over a delicious cross but there were no takers. 7

Celtic Way:

James Forrest: A surprise inclusion for many as he was given the nod over Jota and Liel Abada by his manager that must have been a supreme vote of confidence for the wide man and the Aussie admitted that it was his sparkling form which dictated that he was in the Ibrox starting lineup. Helped out Johnston as much as he could but he was not really seen as an attacking threat. 5

Kyogo Furuhashi: He was looking to make it sweet 16 for the season and break his goalscoring duck against Rangers in the process. He duly did that with just two minutes left on the clock. The talisman got one sight goal all afternoon and he took it absolutely superbly to nick a point for his team despite being a peripheral figure for most of the game. 6

Daizen Maeda: After his stunning solo goal against Hibs and selfless performance in midweek at Easter Road the winger would have been one of the first names on today's teamsheet. He demonstrated exactly why when he burst through and scored a wonderful opener inside five minutes. He had the beating of James Tavernier down the flank and fizzed over some decent crosses before he left the field on 77 minutes. 6

Substitutes

Josip Juranovic (Taylor 21): Allowed himself to be bullied by Morelos as he skewed a first-half header wide of the target. Whilst he loved to gallop forward in support of Maeda it was his tendency to neglect his defensive chores that were causing his team some major problems. He was nowhere near Fashion Sakala when he picked up the ball for the move that led to Rangers equaliser. He struggled from the moment he entered the fray. 3

Aaron Mooy: (O'Riley 61): Replaced O'Riley to decent effect and picked up some good positions in the engine room and his distribution was on point. 5

Liel Abada (Forrest 61): The winger came on for Forrest and flitted in and out and tried to make things happen in a positive way. 4

Jota: (Maeda 77): Handed a 13-minute cameo in the hope of rescuing a point and he was involved in the play that led to Kyogo squaring the game.

Giorgos Giakoumakis: (Hatate 77): The Greek attacker was thrown on to save the match in the closing stages alongside Jota.
