Joe Hart: The Celtic shot-stopper watched a Steven Fletcher attempt land on the roof of the net and was lively enough to sprint off his line to thwart the advancing striker at one stage but still looks uncomfortable with the ball at his feet. The pattern did not change much in the second half but his handling was decent. 7

Alistair Johnston: He is proving to be a popular acquisition among the Hoops faithful after Josip Juranovic's departure and has settled well into life in Scottish football. However, while he has shown his ability to defend his passing was slack on more than one occasion and that is something he will need to work on. 7

Cameron Carter-Vickers: Ange Postecoglou turned to his tried and tested central defensive partnership against Dundee United as the American replaced Yuki Kobayashi in the team. It didn't take him long to get back into the old rarely flustered routine and was excellent as usual. 8

Carl Starfelt: The Swede partnered Carter-Vickers and the duo are yet to lose a game when they have started together this season. He was very rarely troubled and put in a decent defensive shift. 8

Greg Taylor: A welcome return for the left-back who had been missing in action since limping off against Rangers at Ibrox at the start of the month. It was as if he has never been away as his distribution was on-point for the most part and he was only too eager to get forward at every opportunity. 8

Callum McGregor: Captain fantastic was making his landmark 400th appearance for Celtic. He kept it all neat and tidy and ticking over. He is just so quietly effective in the six role and has a wonderful way of going about his business without always actually hogging the limelight or the headlines. 8

Reo Hatate: He spurned a massive chance 25 minutes in when he blazed an attempt high and wide. He also clipped one off the post as Celtic failed to break the deadlock in the opening period. The midfielder was full of clever flicks and passes as he probed away in the engine room. 7

Aaron Mooy: He may have been the subject of a reworking of a Boney M classic but he has been on song for both club and country of late and Tannadice was no exception. He seems adept at making those forward runs and breaking the lines and did so at will. It was his teasing cross that led to Jota opening the scoring and he coolly stroked home to make it 2-0 from the spot as he made it three out of three from 12 yards. It was another big contribution to the cause. 8

Celtic Way:

Liel Abada: The Israeli winger bagged three in the astonishing 9-0 victory at the same venue back in August. He was anonymous for large spells in the first half, struggled to get to grips with the surface, and sometimes lost his footing. Improved ever so slightly after the break. 5

Kyogo Furuhashi: Celtic's talisman notched a treble the last time he pitched up on Tayside and was looking to make it 21 in all competitions for the campaign. He hammered a great chance over the top 30 seconds inn. His movement and link-up play were fantastic and he was kept at bay by Birighitti who saved his low drive. He thought he'd won a penalty when Birhighitti cleaned him out but VAR overturned referee Don Robertson's initial decision. 7

Jota: He produced a sublime pass into the path of Kyogo in the opening minute but the Japanese striker spurned the early golden opportunity. The Portuguese wide man was really in the mood from the off as he chalked up his 50th game for Celtic. He was the visitors' most creative player all afternoon and produced some excellent pieces of technique and skill. He made it 17 career goals and 17 assists when he headed home Mooy's cross from the right on 51 minutes for the crucial breakthrough goal and he was involved in the move that led to the penalty award. 9

Substitutes:

Daizen Maeda (Jota 67): He replaced the excellent Jota no doubt with the midweek game against Livingston in mind. 4

Matt O'Riley (Hatate 67): The Dane came on for Hatate when the points were well and truly in the bag. 4

David Turnbull (Mooy 67): The Scotland international was looking to make it three goals in his last three outings and was given a quarter of the game in which to achieve that. 4

Sead Haksabanovic (Abada 82): He had little time to make an impact.

Oh Kyeon-gyu: (Kyogo 82): The Hoops' latest recruit was given the final few minutes as the South Korean made his Celtic bow.

Substitutes not used: Scott Bain, Yuki Kobayashi, Tomoki Iwata, James Forrest.
