The ratings on a disappointing afternoon in Govan.

Joe Hart: The Celtic number one admitted this week that he was desperate to be part of something when he joined up with Ange Postecoglou's side. He said: "Honestly, give me a chance to show what I can do, I'll help. All I want to do is be part of something. I need to be a part of it and feel something." He's certainly been a vital cog in two title winning sides. He sloppily beat away John Lundstram's early shot and could maybe have done better as Todd Cantwell followed up to net the opener. He also seemed rooted to the spot when John Souttar powerfully headed home a second. He diverted two Cantwell shots round the post to prevent number three. 5

Anthony Ralston: The defender continued in the right-back role in the absence of Alistair Johnston. He at least tried to link up the play with Liel Abada and attempted to be positive. His accurate low cutback should have been buried by the Israeli in the first half. 5

Carl Starfelt: The Swede made the PFA Scotland Team of the Season and rightly so. He was involved in a real contest with Rangers striker Fashion Sakala. He was part of the defensive mix-up with Callum McGregor that presented Sakala with a gift for the third goal. 5

Yuki Kobayashi: The Japanese defender was making his Glasgow Derby debut in the Lion's den of Ibrox. He looked oblivious to his surroundings and played Cantwell onside as slammed home the opener. He was also well beaten to the punch when he lacked aggression and desire to challenge John Souttar for the second Rangers goal which came via a simple header from a corner kick. 5

Alexandro Bernabei: This was a big opportunity for the Argentine with Scottish Cup final places at stake. However, he did nothing to convince anybody that he is capable of displacing Greg Taylor from the side. His distribution also left a lot to be desired down the left flank. He is clearly better in an attacking sense than a defensive one. 4

Callum McGregor: A deserved PFA Scotland Player of the Year nominee but even the skipper struggled to make any real impact of note in the opening period. Things did not improve much after the break as he picked up a needless booking. He, alongside Starfelt, was culpable for the concession of the third goal on what was a rare off day. 5

Reo Hatate: One of three Celtic players in the running for the PFA Scotland Player of the Year and is still trying to recapture his top form after his time on the sidelines with injury. The game largely passed him by and did not contribute in the way that he can. 4

Matt O'Riley: He was one of the few in a Hoops jersey that turned up in the opening period and drifted into some fantastic positions but so often his final pass and decision making let him down when it mattered most. He forced a superb save from McCrorie from an excellent drive forward and opportunity that he created on his own. 6

Liel Abada: The Israeli wide man was welcomed back into the Celtic starting fold with open arms. It was his pass that released Oh Hyeon-gyu for the one-on-one opportunity that he spurned. He fluffed his lines from 12 yards when he failed to guide Anthony Ralston's low cutback into the net. He still has a lot to do to convince his manager and the Hoops supporters that he is no more than an impact or a fringe player. 4

Oh Hyeon-gyu: Postecoglou gave the South Korean striker the nod to start his first ever Glasgow Derby and just his second start in the Hoops jersey. It was a chance for the back-up attacker to sample the delights of the occasion. He missed an absolute sitter when he clipped the ball over Robbie McCrorie, but the effort hit the outside of the post. It was a huge moment in the contest but was forced to feed off scraps and left the field having had just seven touches of the ball. 4

Jota: "We will play like the Celtic supporters are supporting us mentally. Unfortunately, the Celtic supporters will not be there. We are just going to fight like they are on the pitch with us. Once you are a football player you just have to mute yourself to the world and just focus on your task on the pitch and be happy playing football", the words of the Portuguese superstar who had scored on four of his last five starts against Rangers. He drifted in and out of the game but it was not enough to turn the tie in Celtic's favour and needed to produce more. 5

Substitutes:

Kyogo Furuhashi (Oh 63): Thrown on for the last half an hour or so as Celtic tried to find a lifeline back into the match but it was never going to happen. 3

Daizen Maeda (Abada 63): Replaced the ineffective Abada down the flank to see if he could conjure up some magic and drag the champions back into the proceedings but it was a thankless task. 3

David Turnbull (Hatate 75): Given a 15-minute run out in place of the ineffective Hatate.

Sead Haksabanovic (O'Riley 75): Came on for Celtic's best player on the day O'Riley with quarter of an hour to go.

Tomoki Iwata (Jota 75): He replaced Jota for a 15-minute cameo that made sure he had clocked up enough appearances to gain a league winners medal.

Substitutes not used: Scott Bain, Greg Taylor, James Forrest, Ben Summers.
