The Aussie insists that he has his players are completely focused on the task at hand despite reports linking him with the managerial vacancy at EPL side Tottenham Hotspur.

The 57-year-old is determined to add his name to a select band of Celtic managers who have won all three competitions in the same season - Jock Stein, Martin O'Neill, Brendan Rodgers and Neil Lennon Celtic warmed up for the showpiece occasion with a 5-0 win over Aberdeen at Parkhead in the cup final dress rehearsal.

Japanese attacker Kyogo Furushashi netted two goals to take his tally to 33 for the campaign in all competitions. South Korean striker Oh Hyeon-gyu also bagged a brace whilst Swedish defender Carl Starfelt weighed in with the other.

The biggest dilemma facing Postecoglou will be who leads the line for Celtic at Hampden?

Kyogo may well have left the field last weekend and Oh has more than proved himself an able deputy.

However Postecoglou revealed that his goal scoring talisman would be given every chance to prove his fitness ahead of the climax to the 2022/23 season against the Highlanders.

Postecoglou said: "It is guided by him. We have done it in the past when he's had an issue with his shoulder. Last year's League Cup final, he went in with a hamstring that was not properly healed and he scored a couple of goals so I will be guided by him. He is very strong mentally, so if he gives us the green light then we will put him in there."

Hope does spring eternal for Inverness as John Barnes (2000), Martin O'Neill (2003) and Ronny Deila (2015) will testify.

However the smart money is on Celtic racking up the goals and putting a final flourish on a season to remember for the men from Glasgow's east end as Postecoglou seeks to add his fifth trophy out of six in his two years at the managerial helm.
