Celtic are set to reappoint Brendan Rodgers to Celtic, over four years since he left the club to join Leicester City, according to reports.
The 50-year-old has been out of work since being dismissed by the English club in April, with Celtic the favourites to secure his signature once again.
He had initially brought success to Leicester, leading them to back-to-back fifth-place finishes and a 2021 FA Cup and Community Shield double, establishing them as a new force in the Premier League.
However, performances turned, and he was dismissed following a dismal run of results in the Premier League. It was not enough to prevent Leicester’s relegation under his replacement in Dean Smith.
The Scottish Daily Mail reports that Rodgers has sold the Celtic hierarchy "a plan" to make Celtic competitive on the European stage once again.
The report also states that: “Rodgers has held a number of in-depth conversations with major shareholder Dermot Desmond to thrash out his conditions for a second stint in Glasgow.”
“Key to the 50-year-old agreeing to a return is an undertaking by Celtic’s board of directors that they will invest in the players and infrastructure necessary to drive the club forward in Europe.
Rodgers was a massive success in his first spell as Celtic manager, winning all seven domestic trophies available to him whilst playing an attractive and expansive style of football.
However, the way he left irked supporters, who have doubts over whether or not he will be at the club for the long haul, given the timing and circumstances surrounding his departure.

Meanwhile, Celtic have announced their away kit for the forthcoming season ahead, in a return to a black-coloured offering from the club.
In Adidas’ fourth season with the club, the sportswear brand has decided to go for an all-black uniform, in a colour scheme last seen in the 2020-2021 season for the third kit.
Celtic described the new kit as: "The perfect blend of history and modernity with the strong and imposing black kit featuring the iconic Adidas three-stripe and tonal details, complemented by traditional elements to complete the new look."
