Celtic looks poised to announce the signing of Marco Tilio from Melbourne City.
Brendan Rodgers is set to land the 21-year-old who has already won five caps for the Socceroos and scored 18 goals in 79 league appearances.
Melbourne City boss Rado Vidosic has all but conceded defeat in his bids to keep the player at the A-League club.
Vidosic said: "I doubt we will be able to keep him. He had a fantastic season for us.”
It's yet another example of Celtic plundering the Asian market to good effect even in the absence of departed manager Ange Postecoglou.
The Asian transfer market has been a recipe for success for the Scottish champions after recruiting the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate, Yuki Kobayashi, Daizen Maeda and Tomoki Iwata from J-1 League as well as South Korean international hitman Oh Hyeon-gyu from the Korean League.

Meanwhile, Oh's compatriot Yang Hyun-jun has issued a plea to be allowed to clinch a transfer switch to Celtic in the summer.
The winger is desperately keen on a move to Glasgow but his club Gangwon have refused to sell the player until the winter window.
Yang has told Sports Chosun that he wants to move to Parkhead as soon as possible: He said: "Advancing to Europe is a dream of all players. I am the same. I want to go in the summer, not winter. I hope (the club) sends it as promised."
It certainly looks like business as usual under Celtic's head of recruitment Mark Lawwell and it would appear that the treble holders are still going to actively raid the Asian market for talent in the hope that they can reap the rewards for their young players further down the line.
How important is it for Celtic to continue to pluck bargains from the Asian markets and beyond?
Finally, Stephen Welsh has emerged as a transfer target for Serie A side Hellas Verona who is believed to be monitoring the defender's situation.
Welsh could be the first player to exit the club this summer after Brendan Rodgers' arrival according to the Daily Mail with Serie A rivals Bologna also keeping tabs on Welsh.
