Reported Celtic transfer target Sammie Szmodics has been brutally told he's 'reached his peak'.
That's the view of Sky Sports pundit and commentator Don Goodman.
The EFL expert believes the only way for Szmodics, 28, to reach the promise land of England's top flight would be to get promoted with a Championship side.
The Republic of Ireland international has been in fine form for Blackburn Rovers in the Championship this season, which has fuelled speculation linking him with a move to Glasgow.
But Goodman believes the player will not improve further from his current level at the Ewood Park club.
He told Crypto Casino LTD: "Sammie’s got to keep on working hard and he may get an opportunity to move to a club that has an opportunity to reach the Premier League, with all respect to Blackburn.
"The only way he could reach the Premier League is by getting promoted with a club. With respect to him as a player, the step up is massive, I would never say he can't make the step up, but looking at his career, I'd say he's at his peak and a Premier League team will not come in for him.
"It's no dig at him, the same statement applies to a whole load of players in the Championship."

Meanwhile, a major John Beaton decision has been overturned by the Scottish FA just days ahead of the match between Rangers and Celtic.
The experienced official had sent off Cammy Kerr in Inverness' loss to Partick Thistle on March 30.
However, the decision has now been overturned after a fast-track tribunal with the red card rescinded and a yellow card also removed.
Beaton had cautioned Kerr - on loan from Dundee - for simulation in the first half of the Championship contest.
