Everything that Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said after his side's 4-3 win over Manchester City in North Carolina...

That was a great performance and a great result. Was that the perfect test for you?

Yes, it was. Whenever you play Pep (Guardiola) teams it is so complex how they play. I said before the game that it would be another step up for us physically but also tactically as you have got to be so concentrated and press in the right moments. You can't always press or else you end up running more. I thought the players dealt with that so well. The football we played was excellent. The goals were class and we attacked and showed how much we wanted to attack. It was a really good night and the supporters were amazing once again.

A word on Nicolas Kuhn. He produced two great finishes and an assist. You have to take your chances against a team like Manchester City and he did that. Are we going to see the best of Kuhn for Celtic this season?

Hopefully, in the first year, he was adapting and he has come back looking really sharp. The moves for the goals were outstanding. Some of the football to play through City's press was excellent. We built it up really well despite their pressure. He finished his two goals really well. His pass for the third goal was magical. The outside of the right foot and it had to travel a long distance, so two goals and an assist for him was great. We wanted to play him a little bit longer but he just felt a little bit on his knee but he was very good.

You had a very strong starting line up and you made a number of changes but the energy didn't dissipate. It was still at a very high level, wasn't it?

That is a big testament to the players and how hard they are training and working. We are pushing them to be defensively strong and that means you've got to be aggressive. What I have been really impressed with in the games, especially against DC United and Manchester City is that we are making the last step much better. I see teams in the press and they don't get there. The guys are starting to make the last step, get in and win the ball and disrupt and have that little bit of chaos in the game to win it back and then go and play your football. Both teams and all the players did that really well.

Kasper Schmeichel made his debut, and he produced a couple of signature saves in the first half, didn't he?

I think everyone expects him to do that. He is one of the best in that one-on-one moment. He is so good and he makes himself so big, his timing, everything is so good. That was a lovely introduction for him to come in. He'll understand as he goes along how much we need from him. His personality will be huge not only for the team but for the club as well.

The players have got a day of rest now and then it's a trip to Indiana to face Chelsea. The USA tour is going really well, isn't it?

Yes. I think across the board from a logistical and organisational perspective the club have done so well. Everything has been slick and smooth. That doesn't happen unless the organisation, the planning way before we arrive here has been done. It is a huge testament to all the staff. The players deserve it they have been working so hard and they will need to take a day to recover. We will have a really tough session on Thursday morning before we fly away for our last couple of days.
