What did you make of the opening day result?

NK: It was really good. We are happy with the result.

In terms of your performance, how happy were you with that individually?

NK: It was good. I scored a goal and I think the performance of the team was really good. We didn't concede a goal and scored four. It was a happy day.

What has pre-season done for you having had that time in America and Scotland having come in back in January?

NK: It was very important for me to have a whole pre-season with the team. It was going well and I had a small injury before the Chelsea game. Now I am fit and everything is good.

You mentioned your goal do you set yourself targets this season individually or is it about the collective and the team?

NK: Of course. The collective is to go for all three trophies and after that, it is about individual targets.

You also got a goal Liam (Scales) what are you more pleased about the clean sheet or the goal?

LS: The clean sheet is nice It is the first game back and you want to keep a clean sheet. The goal was a bit of a bonus. I don't get many and it was good to get one but we want to keep as many clean sheets as we can and that was the target at the start of the game.

Should you have had a double?

LS: Yes, I could have. I was unlucky, I think it was cleared off the line. I just swiped at it but I will take one goal.

In terms of you, there is a lot of consistency in selection with that defence, however with a new goalkeeper, how good is it to get that understanding even though you weren't too busy as it was all about going forward?

LS: We saw a lot of Kasper (Schmeichel) in pre-season and we knew how good he is as he made a lot of brilliant saves. He wasn't as busy but you can see his quality on the ball. Some of the passes he played forward to start attacks were brilliant. He is commanding as well so it is good to get him in behind us and even though we weren't too busy it was good to kick it all off with a clean sheet.

It is a long season but there is early season momentum was that a statement of intent?

LS: Yes. Last pre-season the manager was new and we were getting to know each other as a team. We were learning his style of play and now we know it we can continue from where we left off last season and that's what we are trying to do.

Is it fair to say there is more to come from this squad?

LS: Yes. It was a good performance but it was still only our first game back and once we pick up in certain areas and improve we can be a bit more clinical and a bit tidier. There is definitely room for improvement.
