CELTIC have been tipped to negotiate a cut-price deal for Tottenham loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers.
The centre-back has impressed at Parkhead since joining on loan in the summer. Celtic agreed a loan deal with an option to buy but have reportedly been quoted with a £10million price for a permanent move.
But former Premier League defender Danny Mills reckons Celtic could negotiate a transfer with Spurs for half the price.
Speaking to Football Insider, Mills commented: “It’s a lot of money.
"Sometimes these clubs just take a gamble and say ‘Ok, we’ll take him and might pay £10million’. He’s going to have to be outstanding for Celtic to pay that.
“If they sent him back and said ‘Actually, we’ll give you £5million’. Would Tottenham say no? Unlikely."
And while Mills believes the player could be signed for £5m, he said a deal would also hinge on Carter-Vickers and who else is interested in the defender.
He added: “It also depends on what other options they have and of course, what the player wants to do. Does he want to be there?
“It’s always a difficult one. There’s always that balance of wanting to play and getting paid what you think you deserve.
“I think £10million is a lot, I’d be going in to renegotiate that."
