Jota will reportedly leave Al-Ittihad after a "fierce campaign" against the club players and management over star players joining the Saudi league.

It's claimed the former Celtic winger is set to depart his new club after just one month.

And it's suggested that Al-Ittihad fans are unhappy with their club due to the major names joining other clubs in the division.

Now, journalist Waleed Al Farraj has reported that Al-Ittihad will move on Jota despite forking out £25million on the winger.

And he reckons a deal can still be struck to bring Mohamed Salah to the club from Liverpool this summer.

As quoted by the Daily Record, he said: “Mohamed Salah is an Ittihad player, God willing. There is a 75 per cent chance that Salah will join Ittihad.

"I heard that Jota will not continue with the team. Yes, the club paid €30 million for him, but the club found that he does not serve the team at the moment.

"Ittihad’s interests come first. I am happy to have Karim Benzema in the centre-forward position, but he lacks playing alongside world-class attacking wingers. But in that way, absolutely not.”

On the fan discontent over the summer arrivals compared with the influx of talent at other clubs, Al Farraj added: “It is the right of the Ittihad Jeddah fans to be saddened by the team’s current technical state, but we must not forget that last year, these same players managed to win the league.

"There is a fierce campaign against the players, management, and the coach because of the arrival of international stars to other clubs.

"These other clubs have signed more foreign players because Ittihad believes that last year they were the champion and should not sign foreigners in the same numbers as other clubs.”
