Kieran Tierney has admitted he would probably receive a lot of stick from his mates back in Scotland over his transformed life in Spain.

The former Celtic left-back made the move to Real Sociedad in the summer after falling out of the first team at Arsenal.

But the Scotland international is loving life in the sun - even if his new diet would draw some jibes from his pals back home.

"It is the best I have had in my life," Tierney told the Daily Mail of the chuleton local steak as he opened up on his life in Spain.

"I'm not big on taking pictures of food but I make an exception when I order that.

"And there's a dish that's rice and clams. 'See, just me saying this, I can see my mates saying: 'You've changed man!

"'When would you ever eat rice with clams? You never got that growing up.'"

Tierney - who is set to be a key player for Scotland at Euro 2024 - remains unclear over his future with two years remaining on his Arsenal deal.

Quizzed on whether he'll be back in London and playing for Arsenal again past this summer, he said: "It’s hard to say.

"I loved my time there and I still have two years on the contract.

"I am very grateful to Arsenal. I don’t know what’s going to happen but I am absolutely loving it here. I feel I have adapted quite well and I hope I can return the faith the club have shown.

"This is a very, very talented squad with world-class players and so many have come from the academy. It’s an amazing story."
