LUIS PALMA'S father has admitted his son may be sold from Celtic depending on how he plays for the rest of this year.

It's been a sluggish start to the season for Celtic's Honduran star and has started just one game for the Hoops all season where he was subbed off in their Premier Sports Cup win over Falkirk after an hour when they were trailing 2-1.

He's a surprise omission in Honduras' Concacaf Nations League double-header against French Guiana and Jamaica and manager Reinaldo Rueda explained his selection would have been 'high risk.'

But Palma's father Don Enrique Palma explained he wanted to concentrate on getting back to form at Celtic.

And he lashed out at social media suggestions in his homeland he was dropped because of a lack of discipline.

Palma senior said: "That is false. You should not pay attention to anything that appears on social media because a lot of it is false.

"Luis made the decision to withdraw and everything is fine.

"He is with Celtic right now and he will focus on being there until the end of the year.

"There may be a transfer, but what happens with him depends on his work."

And his father insists his son is not downhearted with his situation at Parkhead.

He explained: "We have to remember the other players in the team are doing very well.

"It's just a matter of working hard to get the manager's trust again and that is his mentality. He has to show the way.

"Things are going well for his team. There is no difference of opinion or anything like that, he just has to wait for his opportunity to come.

"Last year, he also had a slump, but worked hard and got through it.

"He is not sad about the situation because he knows the season is just starting and there are so many games left including in the Champions League."
