Celtic swept an in-form Aberdeen aside 6-0 in the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup this evening (Saturday), as captain Callum McGregor returned to the starting line-up following injury.
A hat-trick from Daizen Maeda was bolstered by goals from Nicolas Kuhn and Kyogo Furuhashi in what was one of Celtic's most dominating displays of the season so far.
Speaking to television broadcaster Premier Sports after the match, McGregor hailed his team-mates to a man, while saving special praise for the manner in which the Scottish champions dismantled their opponents.
He said: "[It was] excellent. Obviously [a] semi-final, the objective is to get to the final and if you can do it in style, then great! I thought the lads were fantastic, the level of finishing was unbelievable and then you control the game from there, but the three goals first half gives you a really good start.
"If you get 1-0 up, [Brendan Rodgers] wants two, he wants three, he wants four and you've got to keep the back door shut as well.
"In terms of a semi-final performance then all we can ask for is, clean sheet, as many goals as we can and get ourselves into the final which we've done."

McGregor is cherishing Celtic's fine vein of form that seen them undefeated domestically so far, and now is naturally looking forward to competing in another final at the national stadium.
The captain added: "We'll see what happens tomorrow, and see which opponent we face in the final.
"And then it's the same thing, you've got to reset and once the game comes, you put everything into it and try and win the game and that's where we'll be come December."
