Glasgow actor Tony Roper stars in the latest Celtic Christmas advert, assuming the role of 'Granda Joe' who, despite his age, still dreams of playing for Celtic.
Chris Sutton has jokingly taken issue with one particular scene.
Alongside his granddaughter, the character's dream comes true, with Roper playing on the pitch alongside some of the club's greats, both past and present.
During the segment, Roper's character passes the ball to club legend Henrik Larsson, before the scene cuts to footage of the Swede scoring one of his most iconic goals – a chip against Stefan Klos during the 6-2 derby win of August, 2000.
At the end of the advert, Larsson signs a copy of his newly-launched biography to Roper's character with the message, "thanks for the assist."
In reality, it was Sutton who provided the pass for Larsson, to which the former Celtic striker joked on X (formerly Twitter):
Not happy with Joe trying to take my assist off me🤣🎅🤣🎄☘️👇 https://t.co/yl0rdZqSKy

As well as Roper and Larsson, the Celtic Christmas advert for 2024 includes many of the current Celtic squad – including captain Callum McGregor, Kyogo Furuhashi, Greg Taylor and Liam Scales.
