Celtic spilt two crucial Scottish Premiership points as they were held 1-1 by Kilmarnock at Parkhead.

Kyogo Furuhashi's 13th goal of the campaign looked to be lucky for the  defending champions but they were caught with a late sucker punch as David Watson headed home a shock leveller in stoppage time.

Rodgers made just one change to the starting eleven that defeated St Mirren 2-0 last weekend in the Scottish Cup in Paisley.

Greg Taylor came in for Argentine Alexandro Bernabei as the Northern Irishman kept faith with Kyogo occupying the No. 10 role and playing behind main striker Adam Idah.

Tony Ralston was celebrating as he chalked up a century of games for the club and it was he who provided a sumptuous assist for Kyogo's opening goal in 32 minutes

Ralston picked out the Japanese striker with a fantastic cross as he hung the ball in the air and Kyogo who had drifted away from his marker planted a superb header into the net.

The hosts dominated possession but they huffed and puffed their way throughout another 90 minutes and they were stunned when Watson smashed home a late leveller.

Unconvincing? Yes. Worrying? Yes.

However, Rodgers and the Celtic faithful will be concerned that the champions lack a real end product and just can't seem to put teams away comfortably and kill teams off at this crucial juncture of the season.

The boos rang around the stadium at the end with chants of 'Sack The Board'.

It is rivals Rangers who could move two points clear at the top of the table with victory over St Johnstone in Perth tomorrow.

Ton-up for Tony Ralston

The academy graduate deserves every plaudit and success as he chalked up the milestone century of games for his boyhood idols. 'The Brickie' is living the dream. Ralston was another player who looked to be on his way out the Celtic Park exit door a couple of seasons ago. The defender knuckled down and managed to change everybody's perception of him and even won international honours in the process. He remains tenacious in the tackle and his distribution is far better than he gets credit for. He possesses a wonderful engine and gets up and down the pitch with ease. His performances have been excellent in a very good Celtic side first under Ange Postecoglou and now Brendan Rodgers. He is more than just Alistair Johnston's understudy and whenever the Canadian is missing from the team the right-back always steps up to the plate. It was Ralston on his 100th appearance who dug out an exquisite first-time cross that Kyogo headed home with aplomb to crucially give Celtic the lead in this contest. It was a quality assist. Ralston expertly spotted that his teammate had drifted off his marker in a heavily congested penalty area and he hung up the perfect cross in the air and watched in delight as Kyogo did the rest. The 'Brickie' has developed cult hero status at Celtic and that will please him more than anything.

Adam Idah growing into the centre-forward role

The on-loan Norwich City striker was desperate to score from open play in front of the home support. The 23-year-old Republic of Ireland striker linked the play superbly well all afternoon. He is more than just a big target man. Some of his one-touch lay-offs against Kilmarnock were delicious at times as he brought the likes of Callum McGregor and Kyogo into the game. He might still be learning the rudiments of all-round striker play but he is slowly but surely finding his feet in Paradise. He caused the visiting defence all sorts of problems when he dropped deep to pick up the ball. He might not be a natural finisher but he can be a great link man especially when he frees up others like Kyogo. He is a throwback to an old-fashioned traditional centre-forward and he can certainly be a bit of a nuisance. He also had a chance with a free header in the first half but somehow fluffed his lines. It will be interesting to see if Rodgers perseveres with this system between now and the end of the campaign. You get the feeling that a goal from open play would work wonders for Idah's confidence levels as he could be a serious contender as a player. More displays like this would help him in his quest to make Celtic ask the question to make his deal permanent.

Kyogo makes it lucky 13 for the season

Celtic entered this game knowing they had 13 matches left in the season. It turned out to be a lucky number for the champions as they registered another priceless Premiership win. The Japanese talisman popped up with a rare-headed goal as he expertly guided Ralston's accurate cross from the right past Kilmarnock goalkeeper Will Dennis. It was Kyogo's 13th goal of the season as he made it two in two games after bagging the opener against St Mirren last weekend. It is early days, of course, but once again Kyogo occupied the No. 10 role just behind Idah and the two players seemed to be developing a decent understanding up top. As far as Kyogo is concerned he will be hoping to go on another run of games that provides a glut of goals. Interestingly enough Kyogo under Ange Postecoglou was at his devastating and striking best whenever he got service through the middle. It was a clinical header from Kyogo to separate the sides and it came at a crucial time for the defending champions. Reports of the best striker in Scotland's demise appear to have been greatly exaggerated.

Joe Hart continues to come up trumps with big saves

The former England No.1 and ex-Manchester City shot-stopper is a man on a mission.  There is chat that Hart will hang up his gloves at the end of the campaign. If that is the case then he is determined to bow out with a Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup double. If the Celtic supporters are nit-picking they will still harbour major concerns over his distribution with his feet. What is not in question is his reflexes and his ability to make vital saves. Hart has been called into action in every match since the resumption of football after the winter break. On every occasion, he has been equal to the task. He was at it again when the visitors came forward and threatened in this one and the faithful had their hearts in their mouths. The goalkeeper pulled off two superb stops - one in each half -  but was blameless for David Watson's equaliser for the Ayrshiremen. Hart has been an easy scapegoat at times for the Celtic supporters but credit where it is due. His goalkeeping prowess as well as his experience both on and off the field will be another valuable asset to the champions as we enter the home straight. 12 games to go and Hart could well be a pivotal figure in each and every one of them.
